Welcome

On behalf of the DAMAS Conference team (Professor Carol Featherston, Cardiff University; Professor Huajiang Ouyang, University of Liverpool; and Professor Anish Roy, Loughborough University), the InCoME conference team (Professor Jyoti Sinha, University of Manchester), the TEPEN conference team (Professor Fulei Chu, Tsinghua University; and Professor Fengshou Gu, University of Huddersfield) and myself, (Professor Andrew Ball, University of Huddersfield), it is our pleasure to introduce a very special event: the combination of the internationally-famous DAMAS, InCoME and TEPEN conferences, to be held at the University of Huddersfield from 29th August to 1st September 2023.

DAMAS, InCoME and TEPEN are all highly successful conferences in their own rights, but they are also all focused on similar and complementary fields. It seemed very sensible that we should try to collaborate more closely by combining the three events into a single, large, wide-coverage conference, and the University of Huddersfield is delighted to be the host of this event.

The combined conference, which we are informally calling “UNIfied” will bring together engineers, scientists and technologists, researchers, developers and practitioners, all of whom work in one or more of the following fields:

  • Condition Monitoring & Reengineering
  • Sensors and Measurement Systems
  • Damage Assessment & Health Management
  • Health, Safety & Carbon Neutralization
  • Signal and Image Processing Methods
  • Maintenance Engineering
  • Non-Destructive Testing
  • Electrical Vehicle Energy Management
  • Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning
  • Biomedical Damage Detection and Analysis

The 3-day event will provide the ideal opportunity for researchers, industrialists and equipment manufacturers / suppliers to meet, share ideas and learn about the latest scientific and technological advances in all of the listed fields, along with the future directions that each of the fields is taking.

In the event there will be themed parallel conference sessions featuring the work of researchers from every corner of the globe, numerous keynote addresses and master classes from world-renowned experts, together with a large exhibition of equipment and service providers. Of course, there will also be a comprehensive entertainment schedule alongside this.

It is the very breadth of the scope and the scale of the event that will make it so interesting and beneficial to those who attend. It will be a conference like no other, and one that definitely should not be missed. The conference organising committee looks forwards to making you extremely welcome in Huddersfield in August 2023!
