Professor Weihua Zhang, director of the State Key Laboratory of Traction Power at Southwest Jiaotong University, visited the University on 26th May 2023. Prof Andrew Ball extends a very warm welcome to Prof Zhang and issued a ‘Visiting Professor Certificate‘ to him. Prof Zhang also gave the book titled “Dynamics of Coupled Systems in High-Speed Railways” to Prof Andrew and Prof Simon Iwnicki.
During the visit, Dr Zeng Yuanchen introduced the State Key Laboratory of Traction Power at Southwest Jiaotong University. Prof Andrew introduced the Smart House and Precision Manufacturing Laboratory. Prof Simon introduced the experimental test rigs in IRR laboratory. In the CEPE lab, Prof Fengshou Gu introduced the battery state monitoring facilities, ORS, metamaterials, etc. The academic research progress at the University was positively recognised by Prof Zhang.
The visit was a success, and it can lead to many possible collaboration opportunities and international cooperation fund applications.
